We Ruled By Adventourers

jabar.jpgI was quite disappointed by the upcoming west java governor election. How come it is a very inexperienced person which has lack of knowledge such an artist being nominated as the future vice governor.

How can such important position have candidate who have no proven track as having adequate knowledge, experience, and everything a vice governor need. Popularity and power beats.

As an internet watcher for almost 12 years, I spend much time in this world. This world (internet) is almost likely a very separated world from real world. The beauty of this world is there is no gap between an minimum wager employee and senior former minister. We never knew who we chat with everyday. At least if he/she doesn’t want to be known.

I have important people in my numerous chatting device. Few months ago I chat with former president director of one of state own company. He have been in my list for quite several years now. Jokingly I was asking him why he seems to be apart of the government. Why isn’t he one of the minister or at least General Director of sub department. Or at least other important position in central bank, bapepam or any thing. He obviously qualified he is a career officer, superb educational background, never involved in any scandals.

Quite a surprise what he replied to me after almost 10 minutes paused. He said “My friend, I am getting old now. I have family and my children in colleges. What I need now is a security, quiet life, and of course money for my family. Do you realize what it is like to be a public government officer this day?

There is no Job security. You don’t even have the right to control your own department since there is overlapping authority by the parlement. Not only that, There is so many opposition in politic nowadays who watch your every step, every movement, every word you says, and manipulated it, deceived it by the power of free speech as a weapon to turn you down. You would always worried about losing your job every night.

And I haven’t mention about the low salary they paid us. All of the minister is underpaid! I can get three - four times of what we can expect from the government salary as a minister in private companies regarding my 30 years experience in industrial fields.

And I would have a bunch of adventurers sneaking on my tails everywhere I go just hoping they can stab me from behind anytime they got chance. Not mention about the obligation to answer every ridiculous questions from what so called parliament on every move I made.

I would have been checked and rechecked and rechecked by the group called them self anti corruption commission. And the worst i would have earn only one third of what i can expect as an executive in private company.

Do you think I would be able to have good sleep at night? How do you think people react if I were a minister and two of my children now in America for study. What would people say?

So my friend if you were me, would you accept President offer for becoming a minister? oh yes he offered me the position and i was agreed. But after I have deep thought about it. No. I am getting old now. I need a quiet life. In private company they appreciate me more than the whole Indonesian people”

What came into my mind next, who wants such position? will there be a qualified and experienced and honest person like him will fill the minister position. Beside of honesty we need superb qualifying and experienced person in their fields. Definitely Not only popularity or charming personality. Because almost every corner of this country is in deep trouble.

I remember when was in elementary school at least half of the minister has doctored degree. Even Professor, which means he must have proven capability at least in science. The worst part is because they (People who have qualified) is not available, there is chance for adventurers fills the position.

And I feel it is getting worst and worst. What would happen next?

  1. keren deh tulisannya

  2. “How come it is a very inexperienced person which has lack of knowledge such an artist being nominated as the future vice governor.”

eh baru inget artis itu setau aku not lack of knowledge lho…..dont underestimate lah since he is an actor…..aku kenal/tau dia dari kecil, sejak dia smp dia smart lho. Tantenya sobat ku dan aku suka kerumahnya. walaupun his mom artist his father temen nya Yetty Rizaly Noor dan seorang intelektual…..walau ortu bercerai tapi ayahnya tetap mendidik dia dan memperhatikan…..

  3. Saya gak pernah bilang dia Bodoh atau tidak smart atau sesuatu yang mencela. Yang saya bilang:

i think he is not lack of knowledge…..wah kalu yang experienced person ntar kayak jaman dulu dunk………..presiden kudu yang harus udah experienced jadi presiden….jadi gak ganti ganti deh presidennya hehehhehehhe….pisss….

  5. Loh kok jadi tendensius?

  6. …i think he is not lack of knowledge

Really….? I doubt about it. Well I only have seen him on tv. And its obvious. Never meet him in person. But he says many things in the game show he host years ago. My opinion come from that.

  7. buatku jadi khawatir dengan keadaan negara, kita benar-benar jauh ketinggalan dengan negara tetangga kita, kapan kita maju kalau terus begini
